Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Pretend play is an essential part of early development. My students with special needs, including autism and Down syndrome, benefit greatly from hands-on, visually engaging materials that support social development and functional play.
I am requesting dollhouse toys and toddler doctor and office role play kits to help my students practice essential skills through guided pretend play during our school-based speech therapy sessions.
Many of my special education students struggle with activities of daily living and social interactions. The requested materials will allow me to model and encourage imaginative play, turn-taking, and communication. These engaging tools will make learning more accessible and fun for my young learners with learning disabilities and language disorders.
