Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am thrilled to have my own classroom this year, leaving behind the days of roaming. My goal is to transform this small, windowless space with four gray walls into a vibrant and welcoming environment. The current dull and colorless room dampens my students' spirits, but by introducing natural elements and cheerful decor, I aim to create a space that will excite and inspire them.
My students are special because of their remarkable desire to learn and improve their reading skills.
They are eager to engage and grow, and I want to provide them with an environment that supports their enthusiasm.
To achieve this, I am incorporating various natural elements and bright colors. A green rug to mimic grass and flower garlands will bring a touch of nature indoors, making the room feel more lively and less like a gray shoebox. Educational wall decor will cover the bare walls, turning them into sources of inspiration and learning. Additionally, reading-based games, markers for everyone, new flashcards, and Play-Doh will make lessons more interactive and fun.
One of the highlights from last year was the eraser puffs, which my students absolutely loved. They were so well-used that many needed to be retired. With your support, we can bring in new items that will not only beautify the classroom but also enhance the learning experience for these wonderful students.
