This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Music Music Music My students love music. And what says music more than an Ipod.

We are inner city, low income, Title I School.

All of the students receive free or reduced lunch. However we have thrived despite the many obstacles we face. Last year we became a California Distinguish school. I have a fifth grade class where children with autism are mainstreamed all day long.

My Project

We will be Ipod touch to play music in the classroom. I will be able to play music when my students are writing and taking their assessments. We will also be using the Ipod touch to practice math and literature skills with downloadable apps. We will also being using the Ipod touch to take pictures and videos for projects.

Being able to bring music into my classroom would not only make my classroom more exciting, it would also allow my students to be exposed to all different types of music.

Researchers say that soft music playing in the background increases test scores.
