Bringing Music Back to School

My students need 8 portable piano keyboards to bring music back into the classroom 1 day a week.

My Students

My students are currently learning in a school with no music. As a relatively young school, most of our budget is consumed with the necessities such as textbooks and classroom materials. Although we currently have a band room, we have no music with which to fill it.

Our school is located in a predominantly African American neighborhood and while music is a huge part of their lives outside of the school day, they are unable to access that passion within the building.

And while we strive to provide our students with a college preparatory curriculum, we realize the need to educate the whole child.

My Project

Bringing piano keyboards into the school will help make music an integral part of our curriculum. By providing the students with the opportunity to take piano lessons we are hoping to expose some students to a new passion while encouraging others to continue to pursue their musical talent.

Your donation to this project will help our students discover music beyond the radio.

These keyboards will help our students to see that they are capable of creating beautiful music together.
