Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager, hands-on learners who thrive when lessons are visually engaging and interactive. To support differentiated instruction and make math more accessible and exciting, I am requesting colorful paper and cardstock. These materials will be used to create anchor charts, vocabulary wheels, math word walls, fraction tiles, and graphic organizers tailored to different levels of understanding.
With colorful cardstock and paper, we can create, math visuals, anchor charts, and manipulatives to engage students and encourage them to dig deeper into math reasoning and conceptual understanding.
Resources that we can create include math anchor charts that remain posted for reference during instruction, vocabulary wheels and word wall cards to reinforce key math terms and concepts in a visual, memorable way. Other invaluable resources we can create are fraction tiles and shape manipulatives that students can physically move and use to explore operations, equivalence, and geometry. To help build problem solving skills we plan to create graphic organizers for problem-solving strategies, multi-step word problems, and data analysis.
These hands-on resources will be used during small group instruction, centers, and intervention time, giving students opportunities to learn in ways that work best for them. The color helps with visual organization, and the cardstock makes the materials durable for repeated use.
