My school is located in Moore, OK. The students in my class are walking into a school and class for the first time. They come from all different walks of life. There is a wide variety of demographics in the school.
I will be opening up my classroom doors to a class of 26 five and six-year-olds.
They are eager to learn, make friends, grow and become readers and mathematicians.
My students are so excited when they come into school every day. They are open to learning all the new things we throw at them. They are like sponges soaking up everything!
My Project
My students learn all different ways. This year in my class, I will be introducing math centers. This will help the students take what we learn in our whole group lesson and be able to have hands-on material that they can manipulate to help them grasp the concepts.
These materials will help every student in my class grasp the concept and help the students apply the skill in their everyday life.
They will be able to provide a fun and exciting learning environment! These materials will help all the students in my class whether they are struggling, advanced or an ELL student. They will provide hands-on learning and hands-on practice with the skill. These materials will also help prepare them for moving up to 1st grade and continuing their school careers. In kindergarten, we teach the basic skills that every student needs to learn to succeed in other grade levels. These materials will help the students really grasp these concepts.
I plan on using the materials in my classroom during our math block time. I plan on breaking up the students into small groups and using these materials as hands-on learning centers. The Early Math Instant Learning Centers will provide a lot of activities for my students and cover a lot of the curriculum in kindergarten. It will provide hands-on learning for the students when dealing with shapes and sorting, patterning, counting, measurement, comparing numbers, making ten, and simple addition and subtraction. All of these skills are extremely important. The number rockets will be good for counting and number recognition. The zingo bingo will also help with number recognition. All valuable skills students will need throughout their education.
