My Project
I am the library teacher in an urban school district that qualifies for 100% free lunch. I work with over 500 pre-k through second-grade students from a wide variety of backgrounds. I teach library classes and do reading interventions throughout the school. My students LOVE spending time in our library. The students use our library as an escape from some of their realities. They can open a book and jump feet first into a different world or wild adventure.
I am turning our library into an area that EVERY student wants to visit.
I would like to use a Cricut to help create displays to excite students about reading. The Cricut will also be a useful tool to help organize our book collection and make it easy to identify for my young students. The Cricut will also be used to make manipulatives to help support the literacy instruction I am so passionate about.
