This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My hope is to incorporate a light table into our free play center time, providing children with the opportunity to explore independently while also receiving support from adults. A light table supports our district's play-based learning program and they can play an important role in providing a captivating environment that encourages children to explore and discover. The illuminated surface invites hands-on interaction, sparking curiosity and engagement.
Students will be provided with a multi-sensory experience to build their pre-academic skills along with their social skills as they negotiate sharing the table with their peers.
As a dual-language classroom, students learn to forge friendships across linguistic and cultural differences, and the light table offers them an enjoyable avenue to do just that.
