I have amazing, creative, and hard-working fourth and fifth graders. More than 60% of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. Many of my kids are ESL, and many more qualify for special education. I have the best students, and I want to give them the best! Because of the daily obstacles my students face, some of them find education very challenging. Many come to school without their basic needs being met, so it is hard for them to focus on math, science, or reading. I try to think outside of the box so that my kids are engaged and want to learn.
With these new 3D pens, my fourth and fifth graders will be engaged by using engineering skills to create and apply what they have learned in school.
For example, in science the 3D pens can be used to create models of plant and animal structures, waves, etc. In math, my students will create models to show their understanding of a concept.
More than half of students from low‑income households
