This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We recently got Nintendo Switch devices to bring E-Sports to our middle school. Currently we do not have enough controllers, and students are stuck waiting for extended periods of time before they get a chance to play. The more controllers we have ready to use, the more students will be interacting with one another, and the more fun they will have.

E-Sports not only makes school more exciting for students, but it also supports students' social and emotional needs as they learn how to effectively communicate, collaborate, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and develop skills in various STEM fields.

Absenteeism and student engagement have been two major areas for growth since the pandemic, and E-Sports are a proven way to make school more exciting for students. By having something to look forward to, students are more likely to engage in their other classes and work harder than if they have nothing to motivate them. My students and I are very excited about bringing E-Sports to our school, and we appreciate all contributions to our project. Thank you!
