Bringing History to Life

My students need an interactive social studies experience, including books such as "Amazing Facts in U.S. History" and "Book Around the World Set" for hands-on activities and presentations on a screen for our lcd projector. We also need multiple basic supplies such as markers and whiteboards.

My Students

The students love seeing history come alive! Through a print rich and visually stimulating environment, students become highly motivated and engaged.

The students are very hardworking, incredibly diverse (both ethnically and economically), and appreciative of instruction using different modalities and activities.

This is a magnet school, focused on having a diverse student body, including grades 6 through 12. Resources are very limited, but our spirits are high!

My Project

My students need an interactive social studies experience, including books such as Amazing Facts in U.S. History and Book Around the World Set for hands-on activities and presentations on a screen for our lcd projector. We also need multiple basic supplies such as markers and whiteboards. A screen for PowerPoint and documentary presentations will help history come alive! Resources on women in history may inspire our first female president! Life size posters of The Bard, William Shakespeare, and a medieval knight will inspire students to think of historical figures as real people who lived and breathed! Multicultural markers will help students see the world in more than just "black and white"!

My over 240 students are budding historians who deserve an amazing classroom experience, where different modalities of learning are used, and where history comes alive!
