My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with many receiving free lunch. This is a Title I school where many students are receiving extra help with Math and Reading to try to get them close to where they should be for their grade.
These 8-9 year olds are very eager to learn but just don't always know how. They are full of life and excitement! School is the place where they can go to feel safe during the day.
My Project
These books will help my students further develop a love for reading. So many students are stuck trying to find a genre that they will like. A lot of the books in my library are fiction, which does not appeal to all students. I would like to be able to reach all of my learners.
Please help my students learn about important events and people with current texts. So many of my books are outdated and do not grab the attention of my students. I am hoping that getting new books will attract more students to learn about these topics and open their eyes to the world around them.
