it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 5th grade students are curious, determined, and eager to learn despite the challenges many of them face. Our school serves a highly transient population where many students experience economic hardship, and the majority speak English as their second language. While they come from diverse backgrounds, they all share a deep excitement for learning and a strong desire to succeed.
This project will help turn my classroom into a true hands-on science lab, allowing my students to experience science in action.
Materials like the Roll & Race! Activity Ramps & Balls Exploration Set will allow students to explore force, motion, and energy through real investigations. The microscopes and life science models will help them visualize living systems, making abstract concepts more concrete and accessible. The lab trays, scales, timers, and measurement tools will allow students to collect data, analyze results, and conduct experiments just like real scientists.
My goal is to create meaningful, interactive science experiences that spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and build critical thinking skills. These resources will not only strengthen their academic learning, but also boost confidence, language development, and problem-solving abilities — equipping them with skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. By adding science comics to my library, it allows for students to make self and real world connections and further the idea that science is fun! My school came with very little storage so the bin bundle will help me stay organized with all our science equipment! With your support, I can bring science to life for my students!
