Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a mild/mod special eduction teacher. My students disabilities range from autism, specific learning disability, intellectual disability, other health impairment, and speech impairment. My students have their own specific needs that it does become difficult to teach them content. When my students struggle, they will want to shut down and not try. I have to find ways of making learning fun and easy for them. I constantly make up games to teach them sight words or addition facts. My students love to learn when they understand what they are learning.
These materials will bring fun, joy, and laughter to our classroom.
My students love to sing and love being the center of attention. I know having our own karaoke microphones in the classroom will get student engagement. I would love my students to use the microphone during Social/Emotional Learning, where they can share about their day. My students have been asking for the new Colors of the World crayons so they can make their drawings more diverse. The laser pointer will be an amazing gadget to help my students focus on the board and see what I am referring too. The visual countdown timer will be a great help for my students who have a difficult time focusing on their assignments. This timer will give my students a visual of how much time they have left before it is time to transition to another subject. Lastly, the completion stamp will help me to remember how my students finished their work. All these materials will be a great help to our classroom and students.
