I work at a low economic school where most students are on free/reduced lunch. In my eight years of teaching, I have had students come from single parent homes, in and out of foster care, and come to school not prepared due to their home life.
Even though my students live in a low economic area, they still come to school with a smile on their face and ready to learn something new.
Every morning , my students enter the classroom with a greeting and a hug from me. I try to make my students feel that my classroom is a safe environment. My students the joy to my day, so I want to give them some joy in the classroom with flexible seating options!
My Project
Students will be using these flexible seating items (Balance Balls and Bean Bag Chairs) everyday in the classroom. Teaching students in today's world can be a challenge due to keeping them focused. I believe adding flexible seating options will promote student engagement!
The benefits for having flexible seating will be having higher engagement, boosting student performance, and having a more student-centered classroom.
My students will not only LOVE having the option to sit comfortably while learning , but it will help them be successful in the long run! I can't wait to see what this project does for my students.
Thank you for considering donating to my classroom!
