My Students
My students are eager to learn and ready to make art! We have a high population of low income students at our school. Students struggle with various issues inside and out of the classroom. For some, school is the only place they get to be creative and artistic.
In our Rotation program, 120 4th and 5th graders come through my room each week...that's a lot of art supplies.
There are so many awesome, specialized projects I would love to show them, we just need the right tools.
My Project
Creating artwork teaches students so much more than content and standards. Art helps students in so many ways!
Students learn to develop creative problem solving skills, boost critical thinking skills, language skills, social skills, risk taking, decision making...to name a few!
Art provides unique challenges for all learners!
I'm passionate about bringing more art into the classroom. With these shared art supplies, all 4th and 5th graders will have the same opportunities to create!
We need a large variety of art supplies to create our projects.
Projects include:
- Elements of color value and space, perspective, shape and form
Half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
