Bringing Chromebooks to Our Classroom

My Students

My 3rd grade students are in need of five Chromebooks to enhance their educational experience. Chromebooks will allow students to take Accelerated Reading quizzes, prepare for district and statewide assessments, and complete research projects.

My students are eager to learn and are grateful for every learning opportunity.

Our school serves a middle class population that is culturally diverse. The school community is very welcoming, and my student's parents are very involved in their learning. Our school provides a safe and positive environment for our students to become successful learners.

My Project

The new Chromebooks will provide opportunities for students to connect with applications and programs online to enhance their learning with the use of all Google Applications and web-based learning programs. Everyday, my students read their library books with the intention to access the Accelerated Reading (AR) program. This online program logs their reading and motivates them to achieve their personal reading goals. As of right now we only have one laptop in our classroom, which is very difficult to manage with 26 students. With the integration of the Chromebooks our "Guided Reading" time would consist of a station, where students would be able to take an AR test, practice vocabulary, collaborate with others to create a story or summary using Google Documents, and practice multiplication fluency. The possibilities are endless!

I have seen first hand what a huge impact technology makes in a child's education.

Last year, I taught at a school that had a Chromebook for every student in every classroom. I am excited to incorporate educational technology and give my students opportunities they will not have otherwise.
