it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-grade special education teacher, I’m always seeking ways to make learning more engaging and accessible for my students. Our classroom library is a favorite spot, but right now, it's difficult for my students, especially those with learning or visual processing challenges, to easily find and connect with books that match what we’re learning.
With your help, I’d love to add a front-facing display bookshelf to our library.
This shelf will allow me to highlight books that align with our current science and social studies topics—from weather and life cycles to community helpers and habitats. It will also help us showcase books from the author studies we do throughout the year.
By making these books more visible and inviting, my students will be more likely to explore them during independent reading time or when visiting the library center during language arts. It will help them make connections between what they read and what we’re learning in class, while also promoting choice and independence. We greatly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.
