Bringing Back the Basics With Back-to-School Supplies
Help me give my students a great start to a productive, comfortable, and engaging school year! Kiddos are always in need of the basics - from the tissues to pencils, and glue sticks to band-aids!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are extremely self-aware and passionate about the political, medical, environmental, and social issues that affect themselves and their community.
In a world bombarded with technology, they love to physically work with their hands, express their creativity, and move about the room.
Our classes are full of multicultural learners, often bilingual and many working with learning differences.
We foster a culture founded on empathy, advocacy, and community problem-solving in order to prepare our students for college and vocational careers. However, with over 2,500 students (and growing!) resources are always in high demand, and it is challenging to readily find the tools that will allow us to practice our skills.
My Project
With 100+ teenagers engaging with classroom resources each day, stock runs low quickly. I take inventory of any surviving materials at the end of the school year, always bewildered at how the purchase of over 2,000 pencils has dwindled down to .03 by the start of May.
Please help facilitate daily instruction by funding this project for basic classroom necessities.
No student sneeze should go un-tissued. Dry glue sticks does not an interactive science notebook make. Help to put paper towels into our empty-since-September dispensers so that students may wash - AND WIPE - their labs off their hands!
With your assistance, gone will be the days of bland, blank white station labels. We will tap into our teachability using toner and tape, and secure our studies using the combined forces of fresh scissors and sturdy staples to blast our best on bulletin boards!
From all of my kiddos to you, thank you in advance for your consideration and kindness.
