Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We analyze eras of history using art so that we can understand every aspect of the human experience. My students view art as a way of gaining a deeper understanding of the society that created the art. As we move through the decades of history, my students watch how art has become propaganda or a method of rebellion.
I want like to connect this learning to students' present day life, by giving them an opportunity to reflect on the world they live in and create pieces of art.
I want to give students multiple mediums to express their human experience; therefore, I am asking for not just painting and sculpting supplies. This project will encourage students to reflect on their community life, school life, or American society as a whole.
I believe it is important to help students discover how they fit in or view the world around them. This lesson will make their learning more relevant. It will also deepen their appreciation for art and its importance to society. I love seeing my students' creative expressions and I look forward to how they will view the world from their eyes.
