it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is in urgent need of a laptop to maximize the potential of our 3D printer, an essential tool for engaging students in STEM learning. While we are fortunate to have a 3D printer, we currently lack a compatible laptop to run the necessary design and modeling software for projects like the STEM Fair and hands-on engineering challenges. The laptop selected is the ideal choice because of its high processing speed, reliable performance, and compatibility with advanced 3D design software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, and AutoCAD. By incorporating this technology, students will be able to design, prototype, and create real-world models, reinforcing concepts in engineering, physics, and mathematics while developing critical problem-solving skills.
Beyond the STEM Fair, this MacBook Air will be a transformative tool in our Chemistry classroom; Students will be able to design and print molecular models, bringing complex atomic structures and chemical compounds to life in 3D; This hands-on learning will deepen their understanding of chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, and molecular geometry—concepts that are often difficult to grasp through textbooks alone.
Our school serves a diverse student body in an urban district, where access to cutting-edge technology can be limited. By providing our students with this essential resource, we will bridge the digital divide and empower them with the skills needed for future STEM careers. This project will ensure that all students—regardless of their background—have the opportunity to engage with innovative technology and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success.
