My Project
Research has shown that students grow in reading the most when they are given explicit, systematic instruction. I have recently revamped my small group instruction to reflect the Science of Reading so that students gain the skills that they need to be successful in reading throughout their academic careers and beyond.
In order to achieve this goal, we need Science of Reading-aligned small group materials, such as decodable readers and word building phonics tiles.
Students need to have a firm grasp on letter sounds in order to build words and turn those words into reading. Utilizing decodable readers and having students create words with phonics letter tiles will begin building this foundation.
My first grade students are a vibrant, energetic group of students who are anxious to learn as much as they can and start conquering the world of reading! We just need your help to make that goal a reality!
