This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students today are not being exposed to places and situations beyond their reach, due to the cost of travel. Through pictures and technology students can have a chance to experience different places and real world situations first hand through the lives of their classmates.
My students are a really neat bunch.
Their personality and charisma make coming to work easy. The students in my class love to hear stories from my life experiences and love to tell stories about theirs. I try to incorporate what they are learning in class to something of the real world. Many of our students live in a low economic area where they seldom get the chance to leave their apartment building. These stories gives them an idea of what the world is like beyond their apartment complex.
My Project
The resources I am requesting, like the Ipad mini, will allow my students to share their experiences abroad with their classmates through presentations. Students can take pictures or videos and download them to different apps in the Ipad. They can later present their learning experiences with the class on a topic that has been taught or will be taught. With the photographs they can complete a scrap book to leave behind for other future students to learn from. Students will not only learn through their own experiences, but from the experiences of others.
Please help us accomplish our goal by providing the funds necessary to make real life experiences a part of the learning process that gives true meaning to learning.
