Bring the Outdated Teacher Out of the Dark Technology Needed!
Help me give my students the opportunity to expand their critical thinking skills, and intermingle with modern technology by using an interactive touch screen Smartboard. My students deserve to have this chance to learn and engage with technology.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The products that I have selected reflect the changing dynamics of instruction and student engagement. My request for an interactive touch screen Smartboard is based on my current teaching situation. My student population has increased which resulted in a classroom change with little to no technological resources to support student learning. My school has experienced an increase in students and teaching staff which has made obtaining basic technology resources difficult.
The interactive touch screen Smartboard with accessories would be the gift that keeps on giving because it will not only serve all my students but it will also be a resource that can be used by other teachers who share my classroom, and it can be transported to neighboring classrooms to support instruction.
One of my goals for this project is for students to have continuous support in the classroom, this looks like students documenting and presenting information on the Smartboard.
As the teacher, the Smartboard would give me instructional power to breakdown information such as vocabulary, primary source documents, and use media as a tool for students to have a greater understanding of historical content. My vision is that students will be able to engage with technology as a whole class to better comprehend the past and make relevant connections to the present.
