My students need science resources such as Watch-It-Grow Window Greenhouse, See It Grow Plant Lab, Watch and Record Plant Lab, and more to learn about the life cycle of plants in different environments.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Ready, Set, Grow! I want my students to feel like true scientist. I want them experience the life cycle of a plant first hand. I want them to enjoy and look forward to science class. Making science a hands-on activity will help me do this.
My students live in an impoverished neighborhood nestled between factories and railroad tracks.
They all live far below the line of poverty. They all qualify for federally funded lunches. They live within 15 miles of the beach yet 3/4 of the students have never touched the sandy shore. They are all hard working, sweet, and caring. They strive to please the teacher and really want to achieve. They aspire to go to college because even at their young age they know that education is the only way to prosper.
My Project
I want to be able to offer visuals and hands-on realia that will help cement an understanding of what changes plants go through. For that reason I am also requesting a See It Grow Plant Lab. We are going to use the See It Grow Plant Lab to follow a seeds path through the germination process. I want my students to be able to see how a seed sheds it skin, then root begin to grow, and then a sprout comes out. With the use of the Grow Plant Lab my students will be able to follow this process and make observations and first hand discoveries. I am also requesting Watch and Record Plant Lab so that students just like scientist can make observations and record their findings on how a plant grows. Additionally, I am requesting Watch-It-Grow Window Greenhouse (one for each child) so that each individual can place their Watch-It-Grow Window Greenhouse in different environments so that they can monitor the effects.
Please help me make science class hands-on.
I want to spark my students interests in how plants grow and change. I want them to be real scientists and learn to make predictions, observations, and their own discoveries. Please help my students have the right tools to fall in love with science.
