This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teacher can I print? I hear this question so often from my students at my computer center. They work so hard on creating a project and are ready to take it home to share. Unfortunately, we do not have a working printer in our classroom.

I teach 20 students who are eager and excited to learn.

My students attend a large public school and most of them come from low income households. Over half of my students are English Language Learners and are attending school for the very first time.

My Project

A new color printer will be so exciting for my students! It will provide the means to print out vital information, achievement certificates, pictures, and documents created by the students. I hear it from my students often as they complete a section on our enrichment programs, "Teacher, can I print my certificate so I can show my mom?". These certificates are so valuable to my students. It gives them a sense of accomplishment as well as bragging rights when they get home. Kindergarten students love technology and need to be exposed to it as much as possible! Many of my students only experience technology in our classroom. Unfortunately, with budget cuts and increased class sizes, Kindergarten has been put on the permanent waiting list for upgrades to computers and printers.

I am always looking for new ways to improve instruction and enhance learning in my classroom.

With a new color printer, my students will also be able to view color photos. Color photos will especially help my second language learners increase vocabulary. By supporting my project, you will bring color into our work!
