My Students

Funding this project will help create a science-based library for approximately 75 sixth grade math students. These reading materials were selected based on our Virginia science standards and the quality of the book.

Reading is important for students to engage in daily!

Reading daily helps boost students' test scores, increases vocabulary, and general knowledge.

My students love to read but lack a variety of books in the classroom. Making sure every student can read a book of their choosing every day is very important!

My Project

We all know how important reading is for students. Students every day are encouraged to have books in their hands and literature in front of them. What we are not always making sure is that books cover all genres of learning!

Students not only need access to enjoyable fiction books but should also have a large selection of non-fiction books as well!

The purpose of my project is to bring beautifully illustrated books into the classroom to enhance the learning of our 6th grade science standards. I want students to have the ability to choose books that pique their interest based on topics we cover in class and dive deeper into this learning if desired!
