it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 3rd grade students have been busy studying about the natural environment in our community. We've learned about native plants and animals that live in our neighborhood. We've also spent a lot of time learning about plants and the important role they play in our lives. We started an organic vegetable garden in a raised bed by our classroom. We know that our garden will need pollinators to help our plants grow and reproduce. We went on a scavenger hunt around our school to see if there are places for these animals to find food and shelter.
We found that our school does not have a water source for pollinators!
The bird bath will help us create a complete habitat for bees, butterflies, and birds by providing a steady water source. The tools and watering cans will help us take care of our garden so we can maintain, weed, water, and plant new seedlings. We would also like to increase the diversity of flowers to attract a variety of pollinators with the native plant seeds sourced for our region and climate.
