This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is where my students begin their educational careers! As Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten students, this will be most of their first experiences in a classroom setting. They will not only learn to read, write, and count. They will start to develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills through facilitated instruction and play.
My class consists of 24 students who come to school eager to learn.
My job is to do whatever it takes to make that happen!
My Project
Reading books to my students is one of my favorite activities. I like see them so enchanted by the story, they don't want me to stop reading. This is what I believe sparks their love of reading.
I would like to add books that offer more diversity to our library.
My students can relate more to the characters when they look familiar to them. They can see that they can be engineers, architects, doctors, and scientists, based on their interests, not their gender. These books will allow them to be open to different opportunities.
