My Students
The students at my school are amazing. I know you probably hear this a lot, but seriously, my students are phenomenal. They attend a K-12 public school for gifted and talents students in the middle of a major city!
Our students are creative, innovative, and full of life, but this is only part of what makes them so phenomenal. They are eager to learn not only their subjects in school but they also want to know more about the world around them.
My Project
In our freshman English Language Arts class we are always looking to update our classroom library with current engaging books. In our class, we start each day with 10 minutes of independent silent reading. During this time our students are able to read any book of their choosing.
We use this time to truly foster a love for learning. With this project we will be able to add more young adult novels to our current library. With this project we will be excited to add the Not Your Sidekick series as well as historical fiction novels from Ruta Sepetys to name a few.
