My Project
Our school is full of curious, creative, and growing readers! Our students come from diverse backgrounds and love visiting the school library to explore books that speak to their interests and imaginations. One of the most beloved parts of our library? The graphic novels! These books fly off the shelves, and it’s not hard to see why — they hook readers of all levels and build confidence in young readers who are just learning to love books.
Our library’s graphic novel section is booming — and it’s time to give it a proper home!
Our books are packed tightly on the shelves, making it tough for students to browse and discover new favorites. We’re hoping to get a set of clear, sturdy browsing bins so we can face the books cover-forward and make them easier to see and grab. These bins will help us organize titles by series, author, or genre and will be perfect for little hands.
Graphic novels are high-interest books that spark joy, curiosity, and imagination. Whether students are diving into Dog Man, Amulet, or exploring new culturally diverse stories, these books get checked out constantly. Clear bins will make browsing more accessible and fun for our elementary readers.
This project may seem simple — just some bins, right? But to our students, it’s a big deal. These bins will help us highlight books in an engaging, inviting way. They’ll support visual learners, emergent readers, and students who might otherwise feel overwhelmed by packed shelves. Best of all, these bins will help students build independence as they choose books that truly excite them.
At Pine Elementary, we believe every reader matters. With your help, we can make our graphic novel collection shine and foster a love of reading for all students, one clear bin at a time!
