Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 3- and 4-year-old children on the autism spectrum. Most are non-verbal and English is not their first language. They have made tremendous strides this year in sharing, speech, and socialization. Please help me to help them continue to succeed!
My Project
At this point in distance learning, my students and their parents are struggling with a lack of structure, lack of materials, and lack of socialization. My goal is to recreate our wonderful class experiences through Microsoft Teams, model our learning goals, and provide students with the materials to participate at home.
I have selected materials that are re-usable, multi-sensory, can be used for a variety of lessons and individual programs and perfect for my differently abled preschoolers.
I will also include parents in our learning experience to help them learn how best to meet their child's needs.
These materials will be used to create letters, numbers so students can learn how to count, sort for size, color, shape, and class, all while having fun with their teacher, peers, and parents as parents will facilitate learning at home!
