This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing this project on behalf of the incredible group of kids in juvenile hall who have been actively involved in our gardening program. These young individuals are working hard every day, growing and harvesting food that contributes not only to their sustenance but also to their personal development. However, they currently face a challenge as they engage in these activities wearing sandals, which often get muddy and uncomfortable. We are seeking your support to provide them with durable muck boots that will not only keep their feet dry and comfortable but also ensure their safety and well-being during these daily gardening tasks.
The gardening program has proven to be a transformative experience for these kids, offering them a sense of purpose and connection to nature.
By cultivating their own food, they are learning valuable skills and gaining a deeper understanding of responsibility and teamwork. However, the lack of appropriate footwear hinders their ability to fully participate and enjoy the experience. Your generous donation towards muck boots will not only address this immediate need but will also enhance the overall impact of the gardening program, creating a more positive and empowering environment for these youth in juvenile hall.
