My Students

My students love to turn our reading time into a science lesson! I am always looking for new projects to challenge my students. I teach the emergent class and would love a new way to get my students excited about education.

My students are First Grade emerging readers at a public school.

They are eager to learn, succeed, and explore new topics. They are thrilled when they get to create and use imagination in the classroom. I can't imagine a more amazing and inspiring way to create than through the use of a 3D printer!

My Project

With the help of a 3D printer, my students could take charge of their own learning! My students could become genius inventors, math teachers, and bring an "All About Animals" book to life! Could you imagine students choosing and CREATING the math manipulatives that best help them learn? What if my students could perform readers' theater using the characters and set design they made themselves? My students could do all of this and so much more through the use of a MakerBot 3D printer. The possibilities are truly endless and my students would be eager to explore them all!

Opening my students' minds to possibilities in the real world is one of my daily goals as a teacher.

I want them to see what is possible for them in their futures. Enabling them to create and explore will maximize their time in the classroom and inspire them to dream big in the future. These children are going places in this world, and I will do everything in my power as a teacher to help them get there!
