it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school everyday ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.
Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.
For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose.org are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.
My Project
I am requesting ink for my classroom printer. At my school, I don't have access to color printing which makes me unable to do some amazing things in the room that my students love! I love making my students famous by posting their pictures around the room. It is both a great tool for learning and helps them feel like part of the classroom family.
My student actors love to dramatize stories and the color ink allows me to print pictures to document their hard work!
Seeing themselves as part of the classroom community is an important civic skill that color pictures help me cultivate, not to mention how excited them get to see themselves on the wall!
