Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When most people go to work they are greeted by a computer, a register, or a telephone. I get greeted by tiny, smiling faces that are eager to learn. These students are the reason I gladly stay till 5 at night, come in on the weekends, and toss and turn at night thinking about their successes and areas of improvement.
Although many of my students come from socioeconomic disadvantaged families they are still the brightest, most giving, loving children you could ever meet.
Knowing that cheeseburgers are my favorite food I often hear "Miss G., meet me in the cafeteria; cheeseburgers are on the menu today. You can share mine with me!" They have pride in who they are, how hard they work at school, and the bond we have made. Donating to my classroom would affect the education of 28 hardworking students.
My Project
One of the easiest ways to get students excited about a project, during their writing time, or when learning new vocabulary is through colors. Due to school budgets we are only allowed to print in black and white. However when there is extra money in my personal budget and I am able to go to some where to print in color the lessons are much more engaging and therefore the students learn more!
There is a reason the world advanced from black and white photography to color and my students deserve this as well!
I have done much research and believe this printer will last for many years and affect 100s of students. A large portion of your donation will go to the cost of ink. If you donate to this project students will able to see what coral reefs and fish look like in color, versus black and white when we do our last big project of the year. Your donation allow students to get excited about their learning and see the world how it really is, in COLOR!
