My Project

Elementary teachers in our district like to incorporate baking into our curriculum. The students love baking and sharing their creations with the rest of the school. Throughout baking, not only are we learning math skills but also teamwork skills, along with many more. Every year I start the first day of school with a team-building baking activity. Students are given a recipe and ingredients and I stand back to watch. You can see the students who are leaders and take charge, along with the ones who need to take it all in first. Many teachers would like to incorporate more baking, but we have to drag so many things from home it only happens a few times.
