My Students
The students at our school thrive on learning. We are a New York State Title I school, which means a large percentage of the students who attend come from poverty-stricken families. Our students' parents want the very best for their children and look for the support and guidance of our school and educators.
I want to support the students' eagerness to learn and therefore writing this proposal to support and enhance our thriving S.T.E.M.
Program. The S.T.E.M. The program includes Project Based Learning (PBL), learning about and loving all living things. Students learn through engagement, exploration, and hands-on discovery. Students have a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge, enable them to grow and learn through being exposed to many habitats and living things.
My Project
Pre-Pandemic, the STEM Lab Zoo was home to many different types of animals and insects. We raided and breed our own food for the animal that lived in the STEM Lab Zoo, Dubia Roaches, Crickets, Mealworms, Mega Mealworms and White Mice. Our Zoo was thriving with Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos, Tarantulas, Snakes, Frogs, Turtles and Tortoises. We had to give them all away to ensure they were cared for when schools closed. Now that schools are opened, students have returned, I want to give the students the same opportunities to learn through hands-on investigation and exploration! The gift cards will be used to purchase many of the animals which had to be given away or donated, including turtles, tortoises, bearded dragons, leopard geckos and snakes just to name a few. With your support, student will again have the unique opportunity to learn about habitats, life cycles, survival, food chain, animal care and develop a love for animals and all living things.
