Help me give my students some fun learning games and activities. I feel like they have spent the past two years not being able to have fun and socialize much at school. Let's bring back the fun!
I teach an amazing lively group of 7th graders. I love teaching this age because my students are learning that they are growing up and how they fit in in this crazy world we live in. They have a lot of fun, positive energy and get so excited to tell me all about themselves and the things they enjoy doing.
But, let's be a little honest here, it's also the beginning of middle school for them so they are shy, awkward, and scared at times too.
I love that I can help them see that they are not alone and that life is what you make it.
Lastly, my students are kids that make me smile every day. They are kids that let me into their lives by telling me about themselves and their families, hobbies, friends and their pets. They are kids who absorb everything so I love that I get to help them understand life a little more as they are growing up.
My Project
I have chosen to create a project that will help students in a couple of different ways! During the pandemic, I feel like they have suffered so much socially, so I want to bring in some learning games to help them relearn socialization and how to have fun with other kids.
I teach middle school so many of them have missed out on learning what it's really like to move from being a little kid in elementary school to been a pre-teen in middle school.
My goal is to help them learn those new social skills of becoming a teenager.
Second, I want to bring in stress management items to help my students adjust back to being in person rather than online. Many come to school and they are scared, feel out of place and just unsure of life altogether. I want to create a stress free and relaxing environment in my classroom to help ease that stress.
