Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I’m fortunate to teach 18 prolific fourth graders in a low-income community in an urban community in Rhode Island. My students are hard-working and incredibly curious about the world and how technology works. Thanks to several generous DonorsChoose Patrons, we’re fortunate to have several pieces of working technology in our classroom, which greatly enhance the learning that takes place.
My fourth graders have grown accustom to having a printer/scanner/copier in the classroom thanks to one I purchased two years ago. Over time, though, the scanner has become spotty. Recently, the carriage got jammed and works intermittently, making it difficult to copy or print anything reliably.
We would love a new all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. This printer will allow us to print out classroom materials, student-written pieces, handouts, and missives to parents! It will also allow me to print photographs of my students with the camera I’m fortunate to have in my classroom. The scanner will allow us to preserve impeccable, hand-written student work in its truest form. Finally, the copier will give us the ability to make copies of missing papers or anything else the students need for their day-to-day lives in our busy classroom.
Please help my fourth graders get this valuable piece of technology back!
