My Students

Students have been very busy this past school year working on their letter formation, creating words, sentences, paragraphs and essays. What better way to encourage and teach writing than having an author come to our school. This very special author also brings a cultural diversity from South Korea.

Our students are amazing children!

We are an elementary school, kindergarten through 5th grade. We have a mixture of many different cultures. We have and create amazing programs for our students to grow and explore learning. The teachers are very dedicated in providing a nurturing environment that reaches each students' potential. Writing is an important part of our Common Core Curriculum. Writing demonstrates a students understanding and creative expression. Response to Intervention provides additional intervention to bring the learning process to each and every student in our school. Exposure to an author can provide that additional intervention and create better writers. Cultural diversity in writing provides addition experiences for children to learn and grow. Exposing students to different cultural back grounds promotes a diverse learning experience, which allows all learning styles the opportunity for growth.

My Project

We are requesting donations to bring an author to our school. We want to provide additional experiences to our students. Students have different learning styles. An Author has the unique position to reach many students through their writing of books. Having an author in front of the student brings the experience into a realistic view point for the student. Having an author explain how to write a book, how to create and add detail to a character provides our students another point of view that can add to their own learning style. Additionally, with many Korean students at our school, providing a Korean author also provides a great role model for them.

Our current economy makes it difficult to provide extra educational experiences to our students with very limited funds.

These are the additional activities that are often cut. Bringing an author to our school to speak to our students is an important educational experience that every student should be able to experience. Authors live in our classrooms in all our books. What a great experience to be able to ask an author a question in person and to hear the author read.
