My Project
My students are excited to learn that this year they will have an Art class that each one of them will be able to participate in every 1 to 2 weeks for the entire school year.
Art is one of the key ways that many students who do not do well academically are able to show their talents, express their feelings and feel good about their final products.
Art should be a fun time to observe and explore. Hands-on activities are the most engaging and fun way to learn. Many students who are not good at academics shine through their artwork. Having an art class will allow these students a chance to feel good about themselves and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Due to rising inflation and the cost of school supplies, any donation of school supplies- especially ones that my students will use for art- will be a needed support. Ensuring that each student has a set of crayons and markers, as well as the opportunity to use paint to express their art talents will give all of my students a chance to experience pride and success in their work. Since my school currently has about 65% of our student population on free/reduced income status, it is very difficult to ask our parents to donate any additional school supplies to ensure that every student has what they need.
I believe hands-on art activities will excite, inspire, and motivate all of my students to succeed and feel good about themselves no matter what their socioeconomic background may be.
