My students and I need an LCD projector in order to take advantage of the benefits technology brings to teaching and learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Everyday, I am motivated by 48%. This is the immoral graduation rate boasted by the high school my fifth grade students will attend. The only chance my students have at avoiding this failing high school is if they achieve high test scores that earn them acceptance to a magnet high school.
I believe my students will overcome the odds in order to obtain a high school degree. I believe this because of the amount of persistence my students show in the face of great challenges. Each child has their own story but they are united by the fact that they are all motivated to do well in school. I choose to teach this class this year because I have been inspired by their commitment to school.
In order to best assist my students, I have to ensure my students are highly engaged in EVERY lesson. Understandably, the chalkboard cannot keep a large group of middle school students entertained all day. Thus, I utilize quite a bit of technology in my classroom.
My most vital technological tool is my LCD projector. The laptop and projector foster an exciting classroom environment where students see, hear, and experience their learning objectives. Students receive instruction through PowerPoints, 3-D models, animations, and short clips.
I am not the only one that uses the projector. Students literally beg to create and show off their own presentations using the laptop and projector. While doing so, they review our objectives in class and also gain invaluable computer skills.
Unfortunately, I no longer have a projector because it was provided to me on a temporary basis as a part of a grant. I am requesting today the funding for a new, permanent projector that my students and I will literally use everyday.
If you choose to fund our projector, your generosity will effect my students daily. You will be the difference between boring lessons on a chalkboard and interactive lessons on an LCD projector. You will enable my students to access an excellent education and thereby better prepare them for their futures. Please consider this proposal! Thank you!
