My Project
Junior High comes with a lot of challenges for students; emotional, physical, social and mental. If we can help students remove some of the internal barriers they are facing and help them bond with other students and faculty at the school, we will increase their confidence and help them see their potential for success academically, socially and emotionally. This project will provide a space to feel safe, learn and practice skills, and develop the confidence students need to thrive.
Giving students a space where they will learn to develop confidence, how to manage emotions, responsibility, resilience, life skills such as goal setting, stress management, peer pressure refusal skills, friendship skills and transitioning is extremely important.
These skills will help students develop healthy relationships and the individual characteristics that they will need to thrive in Junior High and beyond. I would also like to share what we are learning with parents so they can reinforce what the students are learning at school, at home, and we can have continuity of care across the students' different environments.
