My Students
My first grade students come from various backgrounds from inner-city Philadelphia. My students are very hardworking and motivated to learn all the time. They absolutely love hands-on activities, reading, and any project that allows them to be challenged while being creative. They have so much potential to be awesome readers, writers, and mathematicians, and I am hoping that with a little extra push they will all be successful and remember their first grade class as the best class they ever had!
My Project
With the pandemic, many of our classroom items got very worn out and overused last year. Our students would love to be able to come back to a bright, clean, and colorful room!
The extreme cleaning due to the Coronavirus took a toll on the classroom!
Many of our classroom decorations had to be taken down and thrown out to ensure that we are as clean and safe as possible for the new year. In the rush to exit during the peak of the virus, my classroom broom was also lost. I need these items to be able to redo the classroom and hallway bulletin boards and anchor charts- making them as engaging and useful as possible. Our bulletin boards and anchor charts are filled with foundational skills for the students to reference and revisit while they complete work- helping them to be as independent as possible. The bulletin boards also let their work shine- building confidence and classroom community. By donating to this project, you will be helping me be able to redecorate and ensure that my room remains clean for a fresh and healthy start to the new school year!
