Brighten Our World After The Flood With A Color Printer
My students need a color laser printer and toner for the year.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. McCoy's classroom raised $526
This project is fully funded
My Students
Many of my students do not have the same experiences that many other children/students have from other communities. They are in need of many materials that many children need.
Many children in my classroom are low income and have limited experiences to explore outside of their small town.
Many students in my classroom do not have learning materials at home and seldom are exposed to outside learning opportunities. It is very important for my classroom to be a place where students can have a wealth of resources in order to be successful. Our community was devastated in August by the Great Flood of 2016 that caused 80% of our community to flood. Many of our students lost everything.
My Project
A laser printer in the classroom will allow students to print colorful research projects for reading. Fifth graders need a jump start in researching with the use of technology to help prepare them for future research projects. I will use this to teach them how to research authors of literary text used in the classroom which will help them make real-life connections to the world. I will be able to print their projects when they are completed in color. This will make their time more valuable to them.
Presently in my classroom we have limited copies per month.
It is a copy machine that only prints in black and white. It makes it difficult to accomplish creative teaching projects on a daily basis due to this limitation. Students are easily bored with our current boring materials.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
