In our classroom, we strive to create an environment where all students are uniquely supported in a manner that allows them to reach their full potential. We encourage a safe and creative environment so that our students are able to express themselves openly and freely. An inclusion classroom requires each of us to open our hearts and minds to many different opportunities of learning about individual needs and how to best support ourselves and each other.
We individualize instruction to accommodate each student's needs and teach the kids to understand that everyone will be treated fairly and equal.
We also encourage them to put each others' needs before their own and to be a team player while still freely being themselves.
One last thing about our room. Not only are we preparing these kids to understand and accept each other, but we are providing them with basic life skills as well as problem solving skills that will carry them through kindergarten and the rest of their lives.
My Project
The use of the rug will factor into many different learning opportunities. It will promote students to learn what personal space is and how to appropriately use it. It will teach them how to sit within a group setting while respecting others and their own bodies.
A classroom rug will also guide students to sit and focus on the lesson in front of them while engaging in a cooperative learning environment.
The bright colors within it will help stimulate brain health and get students ready to learn. Lastly, a beautiful rug will allow students to get inspired and create new experiences for themselves within the classroom.
