My Project
We are a small, K-8 Title 1 public school in a culturally diverse neighborhood in New York City. The majority of our students come from low-income households. They are enthusiastic, expressive, curious learners who love painting, drawing, sculpting with clay, and really anything they can be creative with! I would like to decorate my Art classroom to create an inspirational space for students to feel calm, serene, and creative!
Lighting can have such a large impact on how student's feel and act.
Having lighting that reflects a calm, safe space is very important to me. The way that students feel in my Art classroom an incredibly important thing.
The fluorescent lights in the ceiling in my classroom just don't cut it.
I am hoping to decorate and light our space with LED lights, a pendant lamp, and string lights to give my students a softer lighting experience that will allow me to turn off the fluorescent lights. These lights along with the natural light in the windows will enhance my classroom that I have already worked so hard on.
