This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-year teacher, I am so excited to welcome a group of amazing 1st–3rd grade students with autism into our classroom. Each of my students is unique, creative, and full of potential. I want to create a space where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn in ways that work best for them. What I love most about my students is their joy, resilience, and the way they see the world through such a beautiful lens.
To help them succeed, I’m requesting sensory tools, flexible seating, SEL resources, and learning toys.
These items will support emotional regulation, increase engagement, and provide fun, hands-on ways to explore new skills. Sensory-friendly furniture and calm corners will help students feel comfortable and focused, while interactive materials will encourage communication, independence, and confidence. With your support, I can build a classroom where every student feels at home and excited to grow each day.
