This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In an early childhood classroom, having the right supplies is essential to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Materials like chart paper, markers, dry-erase pockets, and organizational tools help structure lessons and make learning visual and accessible for all students especially those in underfunded classrooms like mine. These aren’t just supplies they’re learning tools that empower young minds to explore, create, and thrive. With these resources, I can deliver differentiated instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners while helping them feel confident and successful.

Quality classroom supplies promote the hands-on learning that is so critical in the early years.

With dry-erase boards, students can practice writing and problem-solving in a low-stress, reusable way. Glue sticks, crayons, colored card stock, and folders support creative and fine motor development during art, writing, and literacy centers. Laminating pouches allow me to preserve engaging materials for repeated use, while chair pockets and book bins keep our classroom organized and accessible especially for students still developing executive functioning and independence. Each supply on this list was chosen intentionally to support academic growth through interactive learning.

Finally, having a well stocked, clean, and thoughtfully arranged classroom fosters pride and belonging. Disinfecting wipes and paper towels ensure we maintain a healthy environment. Tools like lanyards for name tags, a quality pencil sharpener, and a reliable stapler keep routines running smoothly. These seemingly small items build a big sense of care and community. When students walk into a classroom that is clean, colorful, and full of learning tools, they know this space was prepared with love and they are ready to learn.
